A disposable blade disposal box. Print > Fill with blades > Throw away.
This is an extended re-design of zapta's Customizable X-Acto blade disposal bank (Thingiverse).
- 1mm thin walls: sufficiently stable and secure, no unnecessary waste of material
- 1mm slot + inner slot guard to prevent blades from falling out (should never happen)
- Wedged-shaped opening for easy slot access
- Round and rectangular base shape option.
STLs
- blade_disposal_box_40x20x60_t1 s1.stl: A 40x20x60 box with 1mm wall thickness and a 1mm slot, ideal for double edged razor, scalpel, and utility knife (cutter) blades.
- blade_disposal_box_40x20x60_t1 s1 so3.stl: Same as above but with a slot offset of 3mm.
- blade_disposal_box_rect_40x25x60_t1 s1 so5.stl: A 40x25x60 rectangular box with 1mm wall thickness and 1mm slot (5mm offset).
- blade_disposal_box_40x30x60_t2 s2.stl: A slightly larger box with 2mm walls and slot.
- blade_disposal_box_60x40x40_t1 s2_so12.stl: A rectangular box (non-flat bottom) with 1mm walls and 2mm slot.
- blade_disposal_box_40x20x10 BRIDGING_TEST.stl: A small test model. If you are unsure about your printer's bridging capabilities, print this one first to see if the bottom of the box (top part, since printed up-side-down) is printed smoothly, without wasting much time and material
Print Settings
Print up-side-down (models are already in the right orientation) so bad bridging quality layers are inside (floor) of the box.
- Support: No
- Infill: No
- Filament Cooler: Yes (required for bridging)
- Shells/Top/Bottom Layers: Make sure you have enough (no infill).
