Entire piece is the same height so painting is easy.

Use a non porous sponge like material (I used some window sealant) and you can dab on the paint

Added a Filament change friendlier version with the red part raised 0.3mm

Added another filament change one based on comments that is 3mm thick and the red part raised 0.5mm
