Printing

You need 6 links and 6 lids, all other parts are only needed once. Print the parts at 0.2mm layer height and 0.4mm line width so that the clipping system of the moving parts works correctly. The tolerances of this model 0.2mm, if they don't work on your printer try using Cura's “Slicing Tolerance” on Exclusive or tinker with your flow rate a bit. Using PLA also helps to get a bit better dimensional accuracy.

Assembly

Screw the holder into the box a bit, then you insert the raiser from the bottom. Press it into the box untill they snap together, then you can screw the holder all the way down.

Assemble the iris mechanism by first clipping the lids to the rotating ring and folding them in. The hole in the rounded side goes on the ring, so that they “point” counter-clockwise. Now turn the ring until a lid fits into the holes on a lid and the box, with the top of the triangle resting on the holder. Now clip them all in, and you can open the box by turning the rotating ring counter-clockwise.
