Summary
This tool is used for scoring the hinge line into composite molded wings which use live hinges. Typically Kevlar or peel ply live hinges.I have used it regularly now and has improved the quality of my hinge lines, no more ragged edges.
It mounts a dremel thin abrasive cut off disk secured by a 2 or 3mm screw with washer. You will also need to tap a hole 6mm to hold a 6mm screw and washer to attach the two print parts together.
The tool slides along a 12x20x1.2mm length of aluminum profile which you should be able to obtain from your local hardware, what ever length you require.
Tape the length of aluminum to your wing with about an 11mm offset from your hinge line and with firm pressure pull the tool along the aluminum towards yourself scoring the surface of the wing. Repeat until you start to see your live hinge material.
The main issue with this tool is the disc some times rotates while scoring but it is just a matter of tightening the screw up so the disc is fixed in place and does not turn.
