Summary
[2022-10-05 Update] I published an integrated version as a separate thing.
=================
Av8er's Dial Indicator Mount unfortunately interferes with the X-axis motor housing of my Anycubic Mega Pro when left installed, and it would be impractical to disassemble/reassemble the hotend housing every time I want to measure the heatbed level, so I designed an adapter with which I can use his mount securely, but easily attach and remove it utilizing magnets.
With this design, you simply insert the shaft of the dial indicator into the mount, then attach it to the hotend housing using the heads of the hex cap bolts as datum.
I went ahead modified the mount itself to fit my own digital indicator a little better as well. My instrument measures ∅57mm x 25mm (d) with an 8mm shaft.
Materials needed:
- Magnets ∅10mm x 2.5mm(d) x 4
- M3-4 bolts x 2 (M3-8 if using Av8er's mounts)
- M3 nuts x 2
- Glue (for magnets)
- Dial Indicator

If using the included mount (my remix of the 8-mm shaft version), use 2 M3-4 bolts and 2 M3 nuts to assemble the 2 pieces.
If using one of Av8er's mounts, use 2 M3-8 bolts instead.
Magnets are to be glued into the holes. I used a drop of super glue in each hole.
The magnet on the external surface is optional.
