Just use M3x12 screws instead of the M3x8 to mount them and a M2x16 for the connector piece.
And mirror the part for the other side of course.

I'd advise to use a brim, as the part is slim and tall. Use 4 walls to get the mounts solid.

The built in supports are only there to provide extra stability. If you trust your printer you can separate them in the slicer and delete them.
