This is a dead simple protective guard to prevent the spool from wearing the side of the case as you print, It uses simple magnets (~6x2mm) to hold it in place so its not permanent and I suspect will wear over time at some point. It will drop over the spool tube then slide it over the larger flange that it will be flush with.
