3D model description
I needed a filament guide and cleaner for my ender 3 pro because our work room is VERY dusty. Not only do I spray paint in there, but we also drill resin and run two embroidery machines. I keep the printer covered but I still wanted an extra precaution after spending 2 days cleaning out the heat sync and replacing the nozzle and bowden tube. Every filament guide I found wouldn't fit on my printer because I have an LED strip on the front side. So I remixed the one I liked the best to accommodate for it. It wouldn't let me click the remix button on the things page, sooo, you can find the original here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3712330
I used supports touching the buildplate in Cura.
I removed my supports with some needle nose pliers and a nice sharp exacto. (Be careful kids and make sure to cut away from you. LOL ) and then it just slid in nice and tight to the side of my printer.
After that I cut a piece of nice soft foam with a slit in the side so I could load the filament through the opening on the side. I was concerned about adding friction/resistance to the filament feeder, but I've found no problems or decrease in my extrusion since installing it.
I hope this helps anyone else out there with an ender 3 that also has an LED light strip!
Edit (2/21/26): Can you believe it, this little buddy I printed off 6 or or more years ago is still going strong! The only thing I noticed is that over the years it started forming a divet where the filament rubbed up against the PLA tube as it printed. So I ended up gluing a tiny strip of red felt there at the top of the tube to keep it from continuing. Hope this helps!
Happy printing. :)
