8-Way Aquarium Air Splitter - Print Settings and Description
Description
This practical aquarium accessory distributes air from a single pump to up to 8 separate outlets! The triangular tower design features multiple barbed connectors extending from each side, allowing you to connect multiple air lines for decorations, air stones, or sponge filters. The central vertical tube connects to your air pump, while the angled base provides stability. The top features additional mounting options for secure placement. Perfect for complex aquarium setups requiring multiple air-driven devices from one pump source.
Print Settings
Layer Height: 0.2mm (0.16mm for better air-tight seal quality)
Infill: 50-70% (higher infill for durability and air-tightness)
Infill Pattern: Cubic or gyroid for strength
Supports: Minimal - may need light supports for the barbed connectors
Support Type: Tree supports with lower density to minimize cleanup
Wall Line Count: 4-5 walls for air-tight construction
Top/Bottom Layers: 5-6 layers for solid seal
Print Speed: 40-50mm/s (slower for better layer adhesion and air-tightness)
Nozzle Temperature: 205-215°C (PLA) / 235-245°C (PETG recommended)
Bed Temperature: 60°C (PLA) / 80°C (PETG)
Cooling: 50-75% fan (balance between layer adhesion and detail)
Orientation: Print with the flat base on the build plate as shown in Image 2
Adhesion: Brim or raft recommended for stability
Material: PETG strongly recommended (better water resistance and flexibility for tube connections), or ABS. PLA may work but is less ideal for aquarium use.
Post-Processing:
Remove supports carefully from barbed connectors
Check all air passages are clear
Test fit airline tubing (standard 3/16" or 4/6mm tubing)
Rinse thoroughly before use
Optional: Seal with aquarium-safe silicone if any air leaks detected
Estimated Print Time: 3-5 hours (depending on size and settings)
Usage Notes: Ensure tight connections on all barbs. Use check valves on air lines if needed. The splitter may reduce air pressure to each outlet compared to dedicated lines.
