Is this nozzle OEM?
After attempting to replace a hard clogged nozzle on my K2 Plus I discovered my AliExpress purchased nozzle was not OEM. During installation there was significantly more resistance during the installation of the new nozzle. So much so that I decided to back it out rather than risking cross threading the hotend. I had another nozzle known to be OEM that I installed instead with no problems and no increased resistance.
That's where this model comes in. While I may not purchase nozzles from AliExpress again, I thought a tool to at least check threads prior to installation might be useful. I'll acknowledge that printing threaded parts can at times be difficult, not the printing, but using them. Every printer and filament may cause variance in the threads, so some setting tweaking many be necessary.
As a baseline, the threads are M6 ~1mm pitch. The outer shell of the part is designed to fit a 12mm socket to make turning easier. That being said, I found that a .2mm elephants foot compensation was enough to have a 'snug' fit that I could still turn by hand. Note, you need to use the elephants foot compensation on EVERY layer, not just the first. For this reason, I just chose '1000' for the number of layers. See the print settings image for clarification. That's probably a good place to start. Once you find the sweet spot for your printer/filament and test on a known OEM nozzle, you can use this to test any 'cheap' nozzles you might suspect aren't OEM. Even if the threads do match, this doesn't mean the nozzle is OEM, but it's less likely to cross thread and damage your hotend.
