This is a model to mount a Phillips Hue Dimmer Switch in a Decorator Wallplate more securely than other designs I have found. It is designed to look a bit industrial, but also small enough that it shouldn't interfere or extend beyond a traditional wallplate. I personally moved my light switch to a combination switch to the right of the 2 gang box, and then mounted this where that switch was.

Required Materials

• M3 Heatset Inserts (x2)

• M3x8 Bolts

• Old Switch Screws

• 1/2"x1/8" Neodymium Magnets (2x)

Print  Settings

• PETG (But PLA might work too)

• 0.15mm Layer Height

• 6 Bottom Layers

• 3 Walls 25% Cubic Infill

Installation Instructions

1. Insert the Heatset Inserts using a soldering iron (or other heat source) into the Decorator Blank.

2. Glue the 2 magnets into the recess on the back of the Remote Holder.

3. Power off your outlet or light switch AT THE BREAKER PANEL and remove the switch-plate cover.

4. Remove the old switch or migrate it to a Combination Switch next to it. (PLEASE research how to do this well if you are not experienced. Electrical work WILL kill you and burn down your home if not careful or done correctly.)

5. Screw the Decorator Blank into the electrical box using switch screws.

6. Reattach the switch plate cover. NOTE: The model does not have screw threads for the switch plate screws, so apply firm pressure and be careful not to over-tighten and strip the plastic.

7. Attach the Remote Holder to the Decorator Blank using the M3 Bolts.

Alternate Installation Instructions

I have not done this, but conceptually it should work. This should avoid any electrical work and let you add the remote next to existing switches and look more integrated than the included stick-on remote mount.

1. Insert the Heatset Inserts using a soldering iron (or other heat source) into the Decorator Blank.

2. Glue the 2 magnets into the recess on the back of the Remote Holder.

3. Insert this into a wallplate with 1 more Decorator cutout than you have. You may have to tape it and pre-screw it in place to prevent it from falling before you attach it to the wall.

4. Attach the other side of the wallplate to the existing switch, and this will just be pressed up against the wall.

5. Attach the Remote Holder to the Decorator Blank using the M3 Bolts. (You may need shorter bolts to prevent them from sticking out of the back into your drywall.)
