This is made for 1/2 inch thick felt, cut to 3/4 inch x 1 inch. Cut your felt to that size and it fits nicely in the handle. 

Not only can you use both sides of the felt, but you can scrape off a little felt when cleaning off cooled plastic wiped from the nozzle to extend the life of the felt pad.

You want to use animal fur felt. Much “felt” for sale is made from recycled plastic. Sometimes when cleaning a very hot nozzle, I smell a little burn of felt. I think that is much better than having the felt melt on your nozzle! 😀

I’m sure there are many places to purchase felt. I bought a sample pack of commercial felt from the company below. For the record, I am not affiliated with this company. I’m just a customer. The sample is 3 inches square, so 12 pieces can be cut out. There is no need for glue for assembly.
