Summary

This is a remix of the original landscape light baffle, redesigned to function as a color-changing lens/filter instead of a glare-reducing baffle.

Although my landscape lights are the same overall style as the original design, they include a protruding front visor / lip (similar to the bill of a cap) that extends forward from the fixture. Because of this, the original base geometry would not fit correctly.

To accommodate the extended front visor:
The locking ring was moved outward and the center opening was enlarged to allow the visor to pass through the base. This also keeps the filter aligned.

Two versions of the colored top cover are included:
Angled Version (Primary Design):
Designed specifically for fixtures with a front visor/lip. Installs by placing the cover into the locking ring and rotating it 45 degrees. The rotation aligns the angled cover with the visor, allowing it to lock snugly in place. Some covers fit very tightly. A small amount of white lithium grease on the locking ring helped with smoother installation.

Flat Version:
For fixtures without a visor or angled front. Allows broader compatibility with similar landscape lights. Same installation instructions as angled version.

Adjustable Lens Thickness:
The lens and the cover body are separate parts by design.
This allows users to tune lens thickness based on filament color and transparency, balancing brightness and color saturation
Example: Green filament may work best with a thinner lens while yellow may require additional layers or thickness for proper color depth.

Printing Notes
Recommended material: Clear or transparent PETG
Print lens with 100% infill for consistent color
Print base with 15% infill

This is my first fully built model, and I’m sure there are areas that could be improved. It was a fun project and a great learning experience.
