This design is a part of my traveling tin can game collection. I used 12 Pack Empty Rectangular Metal Storage Organizer Tins with Clear Window Hinged Lids for Candies, Gifts & Treasures (Silver) as a carrying tin for the game to keep the pegs and board game together.
Peg solitaire is played a couple of different ways. The most common play is by removing the middle pin and then jumping pins over another horizontally or vertically and removing the pin that was jumped over to have the fewest pins left on the board. The best play can leave just one pin in the center of the board. Another play that I have found entertaining and competitive is if you and another person don't know how to get to the one pin you can challenge each other to see how many pegs you can get rid of before you can not move again. An alternative competition that we play is where players take turns choosing a random pin not from center to remove and see who racks up the most pegs remaining after a certain number of rounds.
