So basically, I was looking for an alternative to this ridiculously overpriced metal handle from a local home improvement store. I spent some time browsing through tons of designs here, and in the end, I decided to design and model my own version.
This is my take on drawer handles. The design is (at least by my standards) pretty clean. Yes, it’s a lot bulkier than the store-bought one, but I made it thicker so there’s no flex when pulling the drawer — not even with my screw-filled drawer, which is pretty hefty.
The lower part on the inside is slightly beveled for a better grip. Dimensions are 136 mm × 20 mm × 30 mm (W×H×D), and the spacing between the mounting holes is 128 mm (so it’s interchangeable with the retail version). The mounting holes have a 3.8 mm diameter, which fits a regular 4 mm wood screw.
I printed it lying flat on its top side on my Ender 3 V2 Neo using ordinary white PLA, and the results are top-notch. The only downside is, it takes like a forever to print.
In the end, it cost about a tenth of the price — and it’s way more satisfying to have something I made myself in my workshop.
