Filament Runout Sensor V2

This design is a simple filament runout sensor for 3D printers.
It was made to be mounted on a custom 8 mm chipboard enclosure.

Assembly

1. Drill a 15 mm hole in the printer enclosure.
2. Insert a PC4-M6 connector into the FilamentRunoutV2Hole.stl part.
3. Place this part into the hole from the inside of the enclosure.
4. Screw the connector into the M6 thread at the bottom of the FilamentRunoutV2.stl (main body) to secure the sensor to the enclosure.
5. Insert a micro switch (KW10 type) into the slot inside the main body.
6. Close it with the FilamentRunoutCover.stl part to protect the switch.

Now the sensor is firmly mounted to the enclosure.

Wiring

• Connect the COM and NO/NC terminals of the micro switch to your printer’s filament runout input.
• Configure your firmware settings according to the chosen switch mode (NO or NC).
