The 'Sebastian' lockbox is a fun locking puzzle box for kids.
Layer 1 is the base of the unit.
Layer 2 is the insert layer.
Layer 3 is the main part of the box.
The Assembly STL contains the rotating part to be fitted to the underside of Layer 2, the locking clips, and the adjustable key parts.
To build, slide the rotator arms into Layer 2 with the vertical pins toward the centre, then place the rotator disc over the vertical pins with the central protruding ring facing Layer 2. Next, align the base (1) layer with the cut out notch and place on top of Layer 2. Now turn the two pieces over together. They should fit perfectly. If something is not right then try again.
Next, place the main box unit (3) on top. It should only sit perfectly in one orientation so keep turning it until it sits exactly. Now clip the three layers together with the locking clips which are inserted from inside the main box until
To assemble the key, simply slide the key segments onto the main key rod, then screw in the locking cap. To adjust the PIN code combination will take some adjusting so that the vertical lines on the segments match your number.
Next, position the lid so that the Number 1 lines up with the notch on top of the main box's central column, then twist to tighten.
The next stage involves moving the vertical locking bars out of the way, to do this you must use the cog end of the key to rotate the rotator disk from underneath. Allow the vertical locking bars to move upwards (I turn the box over for this and let gravity help), then rotate the rotator so that the sliding arms push out. Turn the box back over and the lid will no longer twist.
Finally, slide the key into the top using your number code.
