This is a simple USB holder that can be easily expanded to fit your needs.
I know, I know…there are already SO MANY USB holders out there, so why use mine?
Well, I designed this with a focus on three things:
- Customization: Many aspects of this holder can be modified, including the number of USB slots on both axes and the width of the tray. I have provided a number of pre-made configurations you can use, but feel free to use the .f3d and .step files to make it your own. Additionally, there are four magnet slots for 6x3mm magnets on the bottom, allowing the holder to stick onto metal surfaces. These are optional, though, and magnets are not required.
- Space: I designed this to take up the minimum amount of space possible while still fitting a variety of different USB sticks with different sized casings.
- Simplicity: I didn't need a holder with SD card slots, and micro-SD card slots, and all that. Keeping this design as simple as possible while still being versatile was the goal.
I think these three goals are exemplified in this model, and I hope you choose it when you need a USB holder!
Modifying
Modification can be done after opening the .f3d file in Fusion. In the “Solid" tab, navigate to “Modify → Change Parameters.”
You can then customize any of the following parameters:
- length_slots: The number of USB slots along the length of the holder.
- width_slots: The number of USB slots along the width of the holder.
- tray_width: The width of the USB tray (the length is determined by the amount of USB slots).
Printing
This model doesn't require much structural integrity, so 2 walls and 10% infill should be enough. After printing, you can optionally press four 6x3mm magnets into the bottom slots.
The tolerance for the USBs are 0.4mm, which was a good balance on my printer; not too loose and not too tight. The magnet slots have 0.1mm tolerance, allowing a press-fit. Your results may vary, though, and let me know if the tolerance is too small or too large for your printer!
