Overview

This is a modular, 80mm extension riser designed specifically for the Steba ED 5 Electronic Dehydrator. It expands the vertical capacity of the machine, allowing you to easily fit standard 1kg 3D printer filament spools inside for drying (perfect for PETG, TPU, ABS/ASA, or Nylon) without modifying or cutting the original dehydrator trays.

Design Architecture

The model is designed with strict hardware engineering principles in mind to ensure a perfect fit and a fool-proof assembly:

• Modular 4-Part Design: Fits perfectly on standard 256x256mm build plates (like Bambu Lab or Elegoo Centauri Carbon).

• Blind Dovetail Joints: The corners are joined using hidden dovetail connections. This provides incredible mechanical strength while keeping the outside aesthetic completely clean and professional.

• Poka-yoke Assembly: The parts are logically designated as 'Male' (Part A with tenons) and 'Female' (Part B with mortises). It is physically impossible to assemble the ring incorrectly.

• Built-in Tolerances: The joints are designed with a strict 0.10 mm clearance for a satisfying, snug fit that easily accepts a few drops of CA glue (superglue) for permanent bonding.

• Self-Documenting: Internal reinforcements feature debossed "LINDVIG" and "STEBA ED 5" tags for clear identification.

Print Settings & Instructions

To get the cleanest result, especially for the debossed text and the dovetail geometry, follow these slicer guidelines:

• Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS is highly recommended. The dehydrator operates at up to 70°C, which will cause standard PLA to warp and fail over time.

• Wall Generator: Set your slicer to use the Arachne wall generator (instead of Classic). This ensures the debossed text and the sharp corners of the dovetails are printed flawlessly without micro-gaps.

• Supports: Tree (auto). While the models are placed flat on the build plate, they are not designed to print without supports in this orientation. Tree supports are required at the corners of the trays to properly support the blind dovetail overhangs.

• Orientation: Print all parts with the flat bottom directly on the build plate.

Assembly

1. Print 1x Part A - LINDVIG (Male), 1x Part A - STEBA ED 5 (Male), 2x Part B (Female), 1x Roller Holder.

2. Apply a small amount of CA glue (superglue) or epoxy to the inside of the female dovetail joints on the riser parts.

3. Slide the outer riser parts together on a flat surface to ensure a level assembly.

4. Let the glue cure completely before placing the assembled riser onto the dehydrator.

5. Place the Roller Holder Base in the center of the dehydrator, mount your filament spool, and secure it with the top lid
