Summary
This is a holder for a 1/4" hex ratchet and bits. The ratchet is one of the inconsistently-named Prestacycle ratchets with a magnetic bit holder in the handle, but not the micro ratchet- that one has not been tested and it is shorter.
edit: 1 May 2024 I now also have a version that also fits an extension/T-handle adapter.
It is a variation of my Skeleton PB Swiss 470 M bit holder with some improvements:
- Of course, it has been changed to hold a ratchet instead of a 5mm hex wrench
- The walls on the bit holding arms are thinner to make it easier to insert and remove the bits
- The arms are also separated from the base so the can flex more easily
- The retaining bumps from v2 have been carried over
The 2x7 version pictured is the original 2x7 one that isn't reflected in the Fusion 360 file because I modified it a bit since then- the ArmClearance parameter has been reduced a lot, so if you have them sticking together, increase that parameter. The model is also has a parameter, SnapGroove, where the ratchet can snap into the holder in one of the five grooves in the handle- 0 being the closest to the head and 4 being on the end. From there, the model fits in as many bits as it can, though you may need to rebuild the Extrude8 feature. Just double click it, then hit OK in the Edit Feature window.
v2 of this is just a bit more snug by reducing the nominal size of the bit cutout BitFit by 0.2mm.
This printed with PETG for the flexibility, and the model is designed for a 0.4mm nozzle/line width and 0.3 layer thickness, though I assume thinner should work okay too.
