Summary
This is the lower shift dampener for a Porsche 944 with an Only944 stock replacement shifter. The factory bushings were a little loose for my liking and the Only944 shifter is slightly smaller, so they were even worse. I built the bottom one, figuring that it was where most of the movement was coming from, and I don't see any need to build one for the top at this point, as the bottom one seems to have removed alll the play/wiggle from the shifter.

Notes:
Printed using nylon string trimmer line with 30% infill and no top or bottom to give it a bit more flex (had to really force it down over the shifter). Even then, I had to use clamps to press the shifter down onto the bushing. It's a really tight fit, but that's what i wanted! Used .4mm resolution as it doesn't need to look pretty.
Post-Printing
Installation
To install this, I slid it as far onto the shifter as it would go, and then used the edge of the shifter cover to pound it the rest of the way home.rnrnI then put the shifter cover on, and used a clamp to force it into the cover. My cover has the rear tab for the locking clip broken off, however if yours does not you may need a small piece of wood that fists underneath to push it the rest of the way up. Another alternative would be to print it with a longer bottom and a groove for the clip.
How I Designed This
Very rough design. My first attempt at OpenSCAD. I probably should have use completely different techniques (e.g. Minkowski w/ shape primitives) but it was quicker to just pound out the coordinates for a polyhedron and then fillet the corners in 123D.rnrnAlso, the measurements are quite rough. The first SCAD matches what I measured, but I was having a hard time getting my printer to make the hole the correct size. The v4 has the hole enlarged, and the exterior diameter slightly reduced. It's a very tight fit.rnrnWish Listrn Adapt this into a parametric design so the exterior and interior dimensions can be easily scaled to account for printer differences, and factory vs. Only944 shifter.rn Have the filleting of the corners done in scad.rn* Perhaps build the infill into the design in a way that allows tweaking for more or less give?
