I bought some shopvac attachments but they were totally the wrong size. The package claimed adapters they were the wrong size for my shopvac.
My first version was way too long, but it worked. I tried to build a more parametric version but the more I got into it, the more problematic it became. Finally, I scrapped most of my code and design and came up with what is attached here.
The txt file associated with this is the actual openSCAD program used to generate this stl. This is included so that, if you need to adapt to a different sized shopvac, you can grab a copy of openSCAD (free), and paste the txt file into it.
Then you can modify the sizes, lengths, etc., as you choose, and generate a new stl file for your needs.
I have been printing them in TPU. Silk TPU ;ppls cool. The 3mm solid wall with all concentric features seems to fit this model really well. The model should print without support. I made modifications to the model that made sure that overhangs were at least angled, and the version I am uploading today prints without supports. However, if you want to adapt a six inch duct to a 2 inch opening and you do not give the section that angles enough length, the angle might mean that you have to use supports.
All of the sizes and lengths are specified in the scad file as parameters. You can change them as needed. The program will generate a shape and you should look both at the preview and at your slicer to insure that it is what you want.
While I made this to allow me to attach my adapter to my vacuuum hose, in general, it should allow you to attach any round male friction fit thing to any round female friction fit thing, so long as you know the outer diameter of the male thing and the inner diameter of the female thing.
