If you need just a couple more inches on your wire rack, use this post extension. There's an adapter to fit inside the factory metal post and the post extender itself. I also threw in a “coupler” to use multiple posts extensions together but I can't imagine that would be a good idea… This thing won't be the strongest but if you don't need that, it might do the trick.
