This is an electronics case that I designed for my Snapmaker J1. It attaches to the rear of the machine and wires are fed through the square hole where one of the filament holders is supposed to go. It is designed to house a Raspberry Pi, a 110/220 volt IEC-320-C14 receptacle, and any other electronics that you want to use.
The base of the case is several rows of 2020 T-slot, and included in the files are custom standoffs that I designed so that you can mount any type of electronics regardless of different sizes and mounting hole configurations. The standoffs can be secured to the T-slots using the drop-in T-nuts. They are adjustable along the full Y-axis length of the T-slots, and they can also be rotated to fine-tune the distance between them in the X-axis.
The base requires 6 heat-set inserts that are 9mm in length with M3 threads. The same inserts will be used to attach the base to the printer and also to attach the case lid to the base. Put the base on the printer, mark your holes, and drill ~3.5mm holes in the back of the printer. Insert screws through the holes from the inside of the printer and thread them into the inserts in the base. There is still enough room in the same inserts to attach the lid of the electronics case from the other side.
Screws in the standoffs and in the T-nuts will be driven directly into the plastic holes. No inserts or nuts necessary. The screws holding the 110/220 volt receptacle will require nuts.
All screws are M3. All screws are either socket head or button head.
Use 7-8mm screws to mount the base to the printer.
8mm screws to mount the lid to the base.
7-8mm screws to mount the standoffs to T-nuts.
5-8mm screws to mount your electronics to standoffs.
