So I bought a 2.3 KG fillament spool which didn't fit on the default spoolholder and due to its weight I didn't feel comfortable printing a longer spoolholder.
This has led me to designing my own clean modular fillament guide system. At this moment I have 2 variants, albeit more can be easily made.
Included is:
- 1x base
- 1x bearing wheel
- 2x module with variety in positioning
Additional requirements:
- 1x 694(ZZ) bearing (4x11x4) if combining a module with the bearing wheel.
- The system uses the default included spoolholder screws as provided with the Creality Ender 3 V2 (Neo).
The image attached shows:
- 2x setups of the modular fillament guide system
- 1x setup of a fillament spool holder (on the right) -> Not included, and is of your own desire
- 1x fillament guide (lowerleft) -> Not included, but the one used is https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5193117

Notes:
Seeing the system work for a couple of days, you can see that the fillament pulls noticeably on the bearing on the left, but thus far no reason to increase the structures strength.
If the module fits a bit too losely over the base, either sand down the base top and glue them together with some superglue. The more cheap alternative is a small folded piece of paper on either side to tighten the squeeze between the module and the base.
