I designed this to allow me to deploy and position/re-position strings of Christmas tree lights on a 30ft tall tree outside. It's designed to fit the screw on the end of an extendable pole. The design is such that the lights don't catch as they pass through the wider end, whilst you have control of the placement using the smaller end. It works really really well.
