My bike was manufactured with all the usual mounting holes on it everywhere except they somehow forgot to put on the bits that attach a mudguard. Just as well it was almost half price or I'd be really angry. Its on now so no more wet bum for me.

Because these don't mount as close to the centre of the wheel as the proper ones some adjustment may have to be done to the wires that support the mudguard. I had to cut off the plastic safety things and push the wire about two inches above the top. If anyone has any ideas as to interesting things that can be mounted to two pointy bits of wire on the back of a bike let me know in the comments.
