To retrofit my old light installation i wanted to use the Tapo smart button as a light switch replacement, but i didn't want to remove the original light switches.
So i made this light switch cover/base plate which will hold the button securely. If you use a non-permanent adhesive (e.g. Patafix) you can easily dismount the cover and use the original light switch - e.g. in case of an internet outage as the Tapo “smart actions” only work with cloud connectivity (set the light bulb default action after power outage to “on”!) ;)
Also, i didn't like the Base-plate that comes with the S200D - as the button tends to slip out of the retention groove. So, the flat version is an alternative which holds the button in place more secure.
The Tapo button is magnetic. You have to add a round adhesive metal plate in the center groove of the base-plate! They are available for cheap, often sold as “40mm metal plate for car phone holder”
STEP files are included, in case you want to adapt the base-plate to your liking.
