Need a way to mount the filament sensor with the direct drive spool holder by GobRob. Since his design was to maximize Z volume, this sensor bracket also took that into consideration. Thought about using the bolden attachment style but trying to avoid adding more clutter to the already busy direct drive setup.
To install, you'll need a couple m3 screws 16 and 20mm and 2 m3 nuts would do the trick. Put the nut on the sensor mount end. The holes are slightly snug so I basically over thread it and spun the screws a few rounds so the it can move more freely. Before mating the two brackets together, put the nut on the sensor mount side and use a screw and tighten it to pull the nut into the recess to lock it in place. There are built in spacers in all moving parts and both sides of the sensor mount so you can figure what position fit best for you.
I also played with the idea of this mounting straight onto the extruder which I think would work too as it's designed to freely spine 360 degrees in all direction depending on how you mount the sensor.
You should be able to make this work with almost any printer and any sensor that have mounting holes that goes through the body.
This was designed around the mount below.
