When it came time to create a different size of bracket for a Mac power adapter, I decided that I really should create a file based on parameters. That way I just have to update a couple of numbers, and boom, custom bracket.
So that is what the Brick Bracket is. I have included a Fusion360 model that can easily be updated with “internal_length” and “internal_width”. A few other things have parameters also if you want to change them, like the thickness or fillet radius. See the images for where to change the parameters. They are kind of hidden if you don't know where to look.
Careful about the screws you use. They should have a flat bottom, or use a washer. Screw heads can sink into wood, but split plastic.
If you feel that the power brick isn't tight enough, one thing you can do is use a piece of double sided tape between the brick and the holder. The best kind has foam or gel to it so it squishes a bit when tightened.
Feel free to modify the Fusion360 file to make it work for you. Post a make if you change it!
