Summary
This is a full replacement for the original Space Shuttle model on a Williams Space Shuttle pinball machine. We've included a PDF of decals you can print on waterslide decal paper and apply to your finished model.
After printing (with supports so the cargo bay doors would come out nicely), we finished it by coating it in XTC3D, sanding, applying a white basecoat, hand painting the black and silver details, and gluing on the engines. We then applied a matte clear coat, then the waterslide decals, then another round of matte clear coat. Finally, we applied a little aluminum leaf foil to the Hubble in the cargo bay, adhered with a light coat of contact cement. From there, install the switch and gate, route the wire through the clips, and install it with the original mounting holes and screws.
NOTE: The original switch under the shuttle is mounted to the plastic shell with rivets. You'll need to drill those out and replace them with #2 x 0.25" self tapping screws (or equivalent) in the new model. You may have to play with the switch angle and the gate shape to get them to mate up perfectly and actuate without the gate getting stuck in the up position. If your switch is broken or gets mangled, you can buy this replacement then cut/bend it as needed.
