I want to use my Creality Space Pi dryer to dry silica gel bags. But there is no suitable place inside - so I made this tray.
There are two models:
- Low one (with 1 cm legs), which is supposed to be placed on the rollers.
- Taller one (with 4 cm legs), which could be stacked on top.
On top of the low one you can place up to three taller trays to utilize the whole internal space of the dryer, so you can dry more silica gel at once.
Printing tips
- Print from heat-resistive filament - like ASA
- I used Prusament ASA with both brim and skirt draft shield, to keep it attached and avoid warping.
- I also tried printing from Prusament PC blend, it works, but it is quite hard to avoid warping even with glue stick and smooth sheet, because its a big flat area. Using ASA was very much easier.
- PETG is from my experience not suitable, internal temperatures are to high, and it will make it soft and bend.
- If you have enclosure or hot ambient air, you can print without the skirt draft shield. Without skirt and brim, Prusa MINI plate will fit two trays at once.
Important information
Do not forget to use something like Air Vent Gap Spacer for your Creality Space Pi - otherwise the dryer will not vent the humid air.
