This is an add-on to the Gridfinity storage solution from Zack Freedman. The Gridfinity Magneto with quick release is designed to help pick up small metal parts from the small bins of the storage solution. To use, simply stick the end in and let the magnet pick up the parts. To release, pull up on the two small handles and the magnet will be pulled up, causing the parts to fall out.
The Magneto requires a 3mm x 15mm spring, which can be purchased at the following link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VF311YS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Additionally, two 6mm x 2mm magnets are needed, which can be press fit into the end of the puller. It is recommended to use PETG material for printing, and a thin layer height of 0.2 or 0.16 is recommended for smoother movement.

To print, use a brim for stability and enable tree support in Cura to support the levers on the puller. For the orientation, have the cap with the threads pointing up and the puller with the levers at the bottom to reduce supports and to avoid elephants foot on the magnet hole. Support is required for the small arms that stick out the sides of the insert but is not needed around the threads.
My print is in a black glossy filament, the results may not be the best to show, but a future colored one might be added for better clarity.

March 1st 2023 Update: I realized that I had uploaded an older version and the newer version and the older version had a real design flaw. I've cleaned it up and only have the new version.
November 9th 2024 Update: After more then one request I added a version of the cap and puller that should be sized for pen springs. The spec I found is that they have a 4mm diameter and 30mm length. The spring hole is now 4.2mm and the fully extended distance is 17mm which should work. I don't have time to print and test but if anyone does I'll be happy to adjust it if needed.
