The parts:
- A “loose clip” - Useful for extra-large cables or bundling many cables of varying size
- Multiple “tight clips” - Holds the cables in a neat row, closer to the wall (multiple sizes for different cable diameters)
- A “base peg” - Pushes into an HSW empty insert and has an octagon-shaped head which the clips snap onto
The octagon head lets you use clean 45-degree changes in mount angle. Make sure the peg is oriented correctly (grips facing left/right) or your angles will be slightly offset.
The clips attach to the peg and should be somewhat easy to remove without pulling the peg out, so you can easily rotate the clips. The pegs include small grips to pull them out. You'll want to do a few test prints to find the right tolerances for grip between the clip, peg, and insert. The peg's dimensions for mating the empty-insert have already been reduced by ~3%.
The clips are not meant to hold a lot of weight or have a tight fit between parts. They should be loose enough to easily move when necessary, and the weight of the cables should keep the clips attached to the peg. In my prints with my own print settings, they can easily pop off if you hit them at an angle, but are otherwise firm when working with the cables while mounted. (These loose tolerances aren't required, but recommended so you can pull off and reorient the clips without also pulling out the peg / empty-insert.)
Printed with PLA, 0.6mm nozzle at 0.3mm layer height. Use the highest temperature suitable for your filament to improve bonding between layers on the clip, otherwise they may separate. (They'll still work but look kinda' ugly.) Use a lower temperature for the peg to prevent the grips from warping.
The clips will need support in the peg-hole. Make sure to clean out ALL support or you'll have trouble inserting the clips onto the pegs.
