This is a board for the game Martian Chess from Looney Labs to be played with their Icehouse/Looney Pyramids. Martian Chess is a two player game where you own the pieces on your side of the board, rather than based on color of the piece.

I prefer to print this model upside down, to get a nice finish on the square colors. If you don't print it upside down, I'd recommend disabling ironing, as colors might bleed between the squares.

You might want to add a brim, at least in the corners, as the board is quite big and might warp otherwise.

The board can be printed with up to four colors, black and white squares, the edges, and the bottom. There are STL files and 3MF files included for a four color version, a split four color version, as well as a version that can be printed with a single extruder.

Use these four STL files to print with the board split up into three pieces so that it can fit into the Martian Chess Pyramid Quartet box.

Raised / Single Extruder

If you don't have a multicolor printer, you can print these four files and switch filament for the last three layers.

This thing is parameterized, so you can open it up in OpenSCAD if you want to change some values.

• width_of_square - Width in mm of each square
• thickness_of_board - Thickness in mm of board (excluding bottom)
• thickness_of_bottom - Thickness of single color bottom
• width_of_middle_line - Width in mm of line between board sides
• width_of_edges - Width in mm of edges around squares
• radius_of_board_corners - Radius of corners of board in mm
• distance_between_parts - Distance between parts of board (set this to 0 if you don't want a split board)
• number_of_squares_width - Number of squares along width
• number_of_squares_length - Number of squares along length of either side
