A simple thumb-screw for leveling the build platform of a 3d printer. This makes it much, much easier to level the bed, as you can move the bed up and down with the touch of a finger. The thumbscrew has an embedded M3 nut placed there at mid-print, so it can be a bit tricky to make, please refer to the instrucions.

Start printing the wheel, like you normally print stuff. Do, however, make sure that all support generation is disabled in you slicer.

Pause the print when the final layer of the internal hexagon is build and insert a M3 nut into the void. The hole for the nut will be finished at 3.2mm into the build, but preview you slicers output.

I found it easiest to handle the nut by screwing it unto the tip of a M3 screw. Do verify that the nut is safely inserted into the plastic and that the upper edge of the nut is not above the top of the build (we don't want the tip of you extruder to hit it, right?).

When you are certain that the nut is positioned safely, take a few seconds to let the nut heat up to the temperature of the rest of the print. This makes it easier for the covering plastic to stick to it.

Now you just resume the print and let it finish.
