Summary
This helps you to achieve a quick and easy level of the build bed. Ignore the stl file for the cap. It is a place holder only.
Instructions
I have printed my share of brackets and things to hold a dial gauge and other measurement tools to get my printer's build bed perfectly level. They are all a pain as far as I'm concerned. So finally this was born.
Take 3 pieces of adhesive copper tape and locate them on the build platform as shown in the picture. Right above the levelling screws. Solder a wire that connects al three and leave a fair amount of wire from the last patch.
Take another piece of hookup wire strip a bout 5 cm of the end and ind this bare copper wire around the hotend. Take your multimeter and connect the two probes to the two wires. If yours will beep when continuity is detected all that much better.
Now comes the fun part. Make sure the nozzle is clean, otherwise take some aceton and wipe it clean. Now move the printhead above the center adjustment screw and lower it to z=0 (home) adjust the bed levelling screw until the beep goes away or if you measure an open lead. Do the same with the other two points, then check the first one again. I do this with everything cold, to get a rough level, then I heat everything up to working temperatures and do it once more. Eh, voila you'll have a perfectly level bed in a simple manner.
Of course you could rig up an LED and circuit to do the same thing but this worked quick and dirty. You could use a throwee and use it to do the same.
Have fun.
