as with many aircraft mechanics, space is at a premium in my AOG pelican case. for this reason i wanted to make a small little spindle that has a 1/4 in hex in the centre so you can easily wind a new spool when you run out.

All you'll need is a 1/4 bit and a screw gun. there is a slot in the spool that you can slide the tape in to get it started.
