Oil cap upside down?
Measure thread depth on the oil cap, then measure how many degrees off the thing is. half a turn is 180

math is thread dept/360* how many degrees it is off. Then add around 1mm for compression fit.

pull out the oil seal, put the shim behind it and reinstall the oil seal.
