I've been playing with magnets too much lately and I'm obsessed with magnetic quick-release keychains. I've made another type that works really well for me, but I think it would be really cool to create a system where all the components are the same and can be interchanged with any other components.
With that in mind, I created these magnetic quick-release keychains so that you can print as many as you want, and as long as you place the magnets correctly, each keychain can fit with any other component of the same type. I also just wanted to try out Onshape, so I quickly made these things in Onshape and did some variations.

1st variant: most_annoying.stl
This was the first one I tried. It used a small dovetail joint, which required you to slide them in from the side. I soon found that this could be a bit annoying when the magnet was inserted, which led to the second variant.
The second variant: normal_flat.stl
This type uses a slightly rounded latch that can be inserted into the next component. After inserting the magnet, they easily slide into place and can withstand a weight of at least 10 pounds
The third variant: normal_angled.stl
For these, I designed the connectors to be angled, but they can still be printed without support easily. The tabs are more rounded - the idea is that by thickening the bottom, they're less likely to break at the layer lines
- The third variant also includes a version with small ribs, which are used for gripping

I printed all of these with PETG-GF, because that's the material I had loaded at the time. To be honest, I really like the appearance of glass fiber filament.
I use a 2-layer wall and a 5% infill for printing, and so far, they haven't been damaged in any way.
Each one needs a 12x3 magnet
