This clip enables to attach slacklines to the typical plastic bags often used to store highline setups. The clips are attached to the bag, even while the clip is opened.
For easy rigging of big lines it helps a lot, if all highline sections are flaked without twists in the bags. These clips prevent the ends of the slackline from twisting, while the setup is stored or transported.
Additionally the clips are also color coded, to see at a glance, which end of the webbing has to be pulled out of the bag.
It would be nice to have one consistant system for these clips in the highline community. For that it would be nice if you follow these rules:
- print the "top" part it green, it while be attached to the webbing end which you can easily pull out of the bag
- print the "bottom" part in red, it will be the end of the webbing on the bottom of the bag
- only attach the webbing to the clips if it's flaked without any twists in the bag If it is just knotted to the bag it should signal the rigging people, that no care was taken to flake it flat, and probably has twists :)
Parametric
The clip needs to be adjusted to the dimensions of the slackline setup.
Width is the width of the webbing
Thickness is the thickness of mainline and backup combined ( best measured by squeezing a caliper onto both slacklines)
I exported some sizes, I needed
New sizes can be exported with OpenScad and the libraries BOSL and Partscad
Printing
The top/bottom parts print in place and the hinge should work right after printing
The slider is used to attach the clips to the bag, a pipe wrench can be useful
For one bag you'll need:
1x top + slider in green
1x bottom + slider in red
