Summary
UPDATE the Mason top has been corrected. Now that I have the actual lights to use I realized that the battery etc.. consumes the space inside the lid so the "ribs" won't let you install the mason solar lids. if you already printed this just use a pair of dikes to "snip" the ribs at the top USE PPE !!!! they plastic launches like a freaking bullet!!
I have corrected the mason top file so this is no longer an issue.
This is designed to print with a 1mm nozzle with a 0.4mm layer height in PETG
3 pieces. Base Mid Section and Top
2 Mid Sections one is a cylinder one is a spindle (you can print more and daisy chain them together they area all threaded)
they are designed to print in VASE Mode.
the 1 top is designed to hold 6 $1 solar lights (walmart is the vest deal in the US at 97c each. they have a 6 pack for $5 but they are not the same the 97c individual lights are 2-3 times brighter)
The MASON top is designed to accept solar mason lid fairy lights to make the body illuminate from inside) about $12 per 6 pack on aliexpress/temu etc..)
so Powering each light should be around $7
if you print 1 base 1 spindle and 1 mason top you can print 6 sets per Kilo of filament. the 6 light top and the Cylinder mid section take MORE plastic probablu 5 sets per kilo.
if you don't have a 1mm nozzle UNTESTED but you should be able to set your extrusion to 0.5mm and print with 1mm wall thicknesss (2 perimeters) 0% infill and it should print fine. it will take quite a bit longer to print with a 0.4mm nozzle but should print fine.
Print the first 5mm of the "base" ith 2 perms and 25% grid infill no bottom layers 3 top layers.
the 6 light dome top unit need to switch to infill at 59mm and then 2 perm and 4 top layers at 60mm t0 "close" the dome properly.
the mid cyl mid spdl and mason top all print 0.4mm 1mm nozzle vase mode no special settings. Base only the first 5mm is different.
you will need 4 mod truss or pan head screws to mount.
The solar lights should be a SNUG fit do NOT shove them all the way in will likely crack the plastic (they have a conical cross section ie they get thicker higher up) just push them in till you feel them poke out the bottom and stop. the mason fairy light should screw right on no problem. let the led string dangle out the bottom and mark it where it exits. remove now "fold" the light string where you marked it up and down over itseld till you use up the length now tape/zip tie to hold it into a "strand" the length of the light. careful its delicate. now reinsert and you are done.
