Summary

This is a spacer intended to go into vacuum bags pumped free of air via a manual pump pressed against the outside of the bag.

Pressing the pump against the top of the bag seal also prevents the air from escaping because it pushes the top of the bag against the bottom.

With this spacer placed smooth side up, it allows the pump to remove air through the center hole and the channels on the bottom.
