I love my Thunderbolt Display. However, it has become cumbersome to use due to requiring an (expensive) adapter, and the LCD panel showing its age. I wanted to upgrade it to a modern 4K LCD, with inputs of my choice while not making any permanent changes to the housing of the monitor — all the upgrades and changes can be undone. I did this to preserve the ability to continue maintaining it and leaving the door open for any future upgrades. 

Note: I used hot glue to keep the LCD Driver board holder in place in the case, which is still removable.
