This is an iPad mount that attaches to a portable microphone stand, transforming it into a compact music stand for users of sheet music software such as forScore.

Required Hardware
- 8x 3/4" long #6-32 flat head machine screws
- 7x 1/2" long #6-32 flat head machine screws
- 1x 2" long 1/4"-20 hex bolt
- 1x 1/4" ID, 3/4" OD steel washer
- 2x 5/16" ID, 3/4" OD, 1/16" thick rubber washer
- 1x 1/4"-20 wing/knob nut
The 2" long 1/4"-20 bolt may need to be cut a bit shorter.
The 3/4" long machine screws would ideally be about 7/8". You can cut down 1" screws if you want.
I really should have designed this for unmodified standard hardware, but the current version is working well for me, so I'm unlikely to make further adjustments. If you're feeling like making this improvement, the source FreeCAD file is provided. The changes to make are to increase the "Prong Gap" parameter by 1/8" and slightly increase the depth of the screw hole in the Peg.
Print Details
Walls should be 1.6 mm thick (4 wall loops with a 0.4 mm nozzle). PETG is recommended but not required.
NOTE: The provided STL files are tuned for PETG on my printer. You may need to adjust clearances, especially if printing in a different material. The FreeCAD file contains a spreadsheet named "Params" with some adjustable values. For PLA, try setting "Clearance (Loose)" to 0.2 mm and "Clearance (Gear)" to 0.1 mm.
When clearances are set correctly, the arms should hold their position when not supporting anything, but should drop under the weight of an iPad to provide a clamping action.
You may also need to adjust the "Screw Hole Diameter" parameter to ensure good engagement of the #6 machine screws. Tapered screw holes would be another good improvement to the design.
