This laser guide transforms your digital caliper into an accurate surface-level meter.

The lower section was printed in Prusament Neon Green PETG, which was essential to making it 'glow’ when the green laser hits it. The top part was printed in Prusament Jet Black. Any fairly dark and opaque filament will do. 

To work with it, you first place your laser on a level surface and measure the zero height for your laser on the same level surface. Use your digital caliper zeroing function to make this the zero level. Then, on the surface to measure, use the guide as a visual clue to ensure alignment with the leveling laser, and use the depth gauge of your caliper to measure the surface depth difference at that point accurately.  (See pictures)
