One of the spikes that supports our wired 12V garden lights broke (the gate opens repeatedly onto the spike! Instead of trying to source a new one it seemed easier to design and print one. Not sure if you can even buy replacement spikes!
Biggest challenge was getting the thread to be the right size for the light pole to screw into.
Hence I created a reduced part of the model (just the screw cap with bracing to ensure accuracy) to allow for a test fit to be done before printing the whole model. This is the “thread checker”. You may need to scale the model if the thread is not the right size for your lights. Also a useful way of using up the last bit of filament on a reel.
Final model printed in ABS to ensure heat and water resilience. Fits a 256 x 256 x 256 print bed. No support needed
