This is a model I made of the flying saucer C-57D from the classic movie Forbidden Planet. It is often said that launched Science Fiction movies from "B" reels into mainstream blockbusters as well as inspireing other classics like Star Trek and Star Wars.

This is the C-57D in flying mode, I have designed it to be printed from 4 identical parts making a model a little more than 8.7 inches.
I have included an alternate version with thicker walls and structural pillars to keep the finished model from flexing.

*Note: I have re-scaled the files to be better printed in a 6x6x6 printer and edited them so that they can more easily be printed without any support material.
