Custom pedal covers for your Falcon

If you feel like the spikes on your Begode Falcon's pedals stick out too much, you've come to the right place. Print the variant of your choice, slap it on the pedals, ziptie them securely and go for a ride!

The what

These things are pedal covers for the Begode Falcon EUC. They're probably not compatible with anything else - but feel free to try them on other wheels and let me know if they worked.

The why

As a complete beginner I'm falling off my wheel a lot. It's unavoidable, so if I can't make it stop, I need to at least be able to fall off safely. The stock spikes protrude quite high, digging uncomfortably into my shoes' soles, and sometimes catching onto them to the point of not being able to take the foot off easily. Essentially I had to lift my foot first, then place it on the ground - instead of a quick and controlled slide-off to the side. The stock power pads (or pads of any sort) make this issue worse, by constraining vertical motion.

I tried to fix the issue by unscrewing the spikes, but it turns out that it can't be done without stripping them completely - and because I like having the option of going back to stock, I printed meself something to make them protrude less. Worked like a charm, so I CAD'd out another two variants that cover the spikes completely - one with conical studs, and one with knurling.

The how

Just print the variant of your choice, slap it on your pedals, fasten with some strategically placed zipties and ride on!

Recommended settings: filament of your choice, 30-40% gyroid infill. I printed it in PLA, and it works just fine.

The what if

1. Help, my spikes won't fit the holes!
   The holes have a generous tolerance built in, but even then my right pedal required just a teeny bit of persuasion to fit. These pedals are not precision-built at all, so in case of any problems just scale the model slightly.

2. I've installed these and I keep sliding off the wheel, wtf!
   These things are designed to decrease grip to the point of being able to remove your foot without having to forcibly unhook it from the spikes and/or tearing your sole to shreds. If they end up being too slippery, you probably didn't want them in the first place - but you can glue some sandpaper to the plain variant to improve the grip.
