Clip-on Tracker Enclosure – A Quick-Fix Solution for Broken Mounting Points

Many dog and cat GPS trackers have mounting points that tend to break easily over time. This clip-on enclosure provides a simple repair solution by sliding over the tracker body and restoring a secure attachment.

• Width: 30 mm

• Height: 16.65 mm (lowest point)

Two versions are included:

• One version features integrated snap-fit notches that grip the tracker surface; this version requires drilling small recesses using a 1.5 mm drill bit (a drill guide is provided). When using this version, test the fit gradually and deepen the holes carefully—avoid drilling through the housing to prevent damage to the electronics. The snap-fit notches are 0.5 mm deep.

• The second version has no snap-fit features and can be used without any drilling.

In both cases, it is recommended to glue the enclosure to the tracker using an adhesive suitable for PE, PP, PTFE, or similar plastics. The tracker surface should be thoroughly cleaned before bonding. Standard PU or general-purpose adhesives are not sufficient—use a proper plastic adhesive (for example: Loctite Super Glue Plastics Bonding System).

The enclosure is designed to slide into place, not to be pressed on from the top, to avoid bending or damaging the part.

Printing recommendation:
Print the enclosure in PETG, ABS/ASA, PC, or a comparable plastic with sufficient mechanical strength and durability for outdoor and mechanical stress.
